Rajasthan bursts with life and vitality, beauty and colour; with unrivalled architecture and a tradition of hospitality. The most striking aspect of a visit to this area is the abundance of colour which is an antidote to the harsh desert landscape. The people of Rajasthan have created vibrancy like nowhere else with their canary yellow turbans, lime green saris and flame red headscarves. To visit Rajasthan, its deserts and lakes, towns and villages, palaces and forts is to see India at its best.

Jaipur Popularly known as Pink City; this beautiful city was planned by one of the Kachawaha clan of Rajputs, Sawai Jai Singh-II in 1727.

If you walk in the old part of the city today you realise that this remarkable place was ahead of its time. It was considered a marvel of town planning and many merchants, scholars, priests and artisans made Jaipur their home.

Traditional crafts include jewelry, metalwork, enameling, tie dye, stone carving, pottery, leather-work and miniature painting. These crafts were patronised by the rulers in 18th century and still thrive to this day.

Visits to the famous City Palace, Place of the Winds and the Observatory are a must; however the best way to get a feel for this fascinating city is to go on our fully guided heritage walks.

Amber The history of Amber is a reflection of the history of the ruling Kachawahas clan. Housing mighty gates, temples, huge ornate halls, palaces, pavilions and gardens Amber fort is a perfect blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture.

The old town of Amber is no less fascinating and is dotted with ancient temples, havelis, step wells and scenic views. The Anokhi Museum, is housed in an exquisitely restored haveli and has exhibits documenting the local textile traditions, as well as demonstrations and interactive workshops.

Jodhpur This historically important city was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha , who claimed decedent from Lord Rama, the hero of the epic Ramayana. The town is dominated by the formidable Mehrangarh Fort around which the ‘Blue City’ grew. The fort is a must see and hosts the famous Rajasthan International Folk Festival every October, to coincide with the brightest full moon of the year.
